A Professional Cover Letter
There are plenty of opportunities waiting to be seized in the market, however, it is a sad fact that many are still unemployed. Each year, universities and colleges produce fresh graduates, and competition is extremely high. You may wonder how it is possible to face so much of competition with other applicants, but did you know that you could start by writing a good cover letter?

When applying for a particular job, along with hundreds of applicants, this could be your first and last chance to ''sell'' your unique talents and skills to the employer. To ensure success, you need to follow certain rules:

  1. Your presentation must be excellent and striking: The entire package revolves around the idea of properly presenting yourself to the employer. A cover letter that has a good format, is organized, and has a font which is professional and of a readable size, is sure catch the reader’s attention.
  2. An effective introduction: Employers do not have time to meet each applicant personally, but are more interested in what the applicants can do for your company. You must have an effective introduction to capture the attention of your employer, and must maintain the employer's interest in reading the full letter.
  3. Communicate your knowledge and work experience with concrete results: Providing information without any proof is of no good. Everything you write must be supported with substantial proof. Make sure to include numbers, percentages, ratios, and anything that would make your information concrete. Tangible benefits you can contribute to the company are important and you need to constantly provide solid proof of your achievements.
  4. Language: Keep your cover letter as simple as possible. Be clear, concise and direct. No one really has the time or patience to read and then to decipher the meaning of a four line long sentence. Short sentences work very well to retain the attention of the reader. So a cover letter with a clear structure and that which is easy to read will do wonders.
  5. Personalize your letter: One of the most important things you could do while writing a cover letter is to give a personal touch to the letter. You need to capture the employer’s attention by promoting trust for yourself.
No matter how good your resume is, it is worthless without a cover letter. Therefore, in order that the employer even takes the time to read your resume, make sure you write a very professional letter. Through an effective letter you can present and highlight different skills and you can achieve competitive advantage over other applicants. Make a good first impression by your powerful and dynamic letter. Achieving a competitive advantage over other candidates is what you want the most, and if you have a good cover letter, you can use it as a valuable tool to make sure that employers read your resume and call you for an interview.
